Javed Khan

When Javed Khan moved to Australia in 2000, he brought with him a clear vision to create a fine dining Indian restaurant modeled on the culture of excellence practiced in the iconic Indian hotels of Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

After completing his hospitality training in the highly regarded Institute of Hotel Management in Kolkata, Javed began his passionate journey in the dining room and kitchen of the magnificent Oberoi Hotels. It was there that Javed first understood that excellence in food and service was a true art form.

It would be another six years before Javed’s vision would become a reality – in July 2007 he opened the doors of his creation, Newtown’s acclaimed Delhi ‘O’ Delhi, a fine dining restaurant embodying every bit of the artful elegance of the grand hotels in Javed’s past.

Others had failed in the same location, but Javed held on to his vision. “I knew that fine food and impeccable service would build our reputation. And that’s how it worked out. Within six months we had been discovered”.

 
 
 
 
 

CHEF KAILASH

Say hello to our Head Chef Kailash, who has been a part of the Delhi ‘O’ Delhi family since 2018.

After completing his Bachelor Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from the Institute Of Hotel Managament, Gurdaspur, he moved to Delhi to complete his industrial training at The Orchid hotel.

Chef Kailash grew up loving food, and credits his uncle who was a professional chef as his biggest source of inspiration.
His boundless knowledge and desire to dive deep into the nuance of regional Indian cuisine is clearly reflected in the elegant and flavourful menus he creates.
